Model information
If you are a model or an individual interested in a photoshoot with us please read our FAQ and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us.
Do I need to be a professional model to qualify for a photoshoot?
No. Previous modeling experience helps but it is not required. I have shot professional models, amateur models and every day women, men, teenagers, children, couples and groups as you can see in my portfolio.
There is almost always a suitable concept for every face. The only requirement is that you are NOT camera shy and that you’re willing and able to show a variety of expressions and not just one “plastic” smile.
Please understand that I cannot say yes to every application as I have too many inquiries to fit into my shooting schedule.
What do I get for the photoshoot?
I work on a TFCD basis providing my models with:
• CD containing 10 edited images as well as the unedited images from the shoot.
• Password protected web photo gallery so that you can view, download, and share with others.
How much will the photoshoot cost me?
The photoshoot is absolutely free. Photography agencies charge between $800-$1500 for the same service I provide.
The only thing you are required to do is to sign a model release form. A model release is a document which enables me to sell the photos under a royalty-free license. You can read the model release form here.
If you do not wish to sign the model release but still would like a photoshoot I can do it for $800 and you will get the same items already mentioned above plus 10 printed images for your book if you are a model and for non-models a 20 page/20 image hardcover photobook.
What sort of photos will be taken during the photoshoot?
Generally I shoot business, fitness, medical, fashion, and lifestyle. You are welcome to come up with your own ideas prior the photoshoot. It is very important for me that you walk out of my studio with the photos you had in mind or better.
To see some samples of images taken during photoshoots you can view the People folder on the Portfolio page.
Where will my photos be used?
Photos sold under a Royalty Free licence are used in digital and print media including: magazines, newspapers, leaflets, brochures, websites and books.
The photo agencies I use to market my photos have strict terms and conditions for buyers in their TOS (Terms Of Service). Here is an important extract from one of the agencies terms of service for buyers:
" You may NOT use an Image in a way that places any person in the photo in a bad light or depicts them in a way that they may find offensive - this includes, but is not limited to: a) the use of Images in pornography; b) tobacco ads; c) ads for adult entertainment clubs or similar venues, or for escort, dating or similar services; d) political endorsements; e) advertisements for pharmaceutical products, including, but not limited to personal hygiene or birth control products; and f) uses that are defamatory, or contain otherwise unlawful, offensive or immoral content."
If you wish to read the full TOS of one of the main photo agencies I use you can do so here.
Can I get references from previous models?
Of course you can, I have shot many models without a problem and all have been happy with our results.
Where do the photoshoots take place?
They take place in my home studio in Waxahachie, Texas, about 35 minutes south of Dallas on I-35E. On occasion I shoot on location in downtown Dallas, uptown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and the historic downtown square in Waxahachie. You can bring someone along with you if it makes you feel more confident but take into consideration that boyfriends/girlfriends are not always the most appropriate companion during a photoshoot and can sometimes be very distracting. Parents/friends are always more cooperative and relaxed.
Do you provide a make up artist and a hair stylist?
Normally my models do their hair and makeup themselves but for an additional fee (payable in advance) I can make arrangements to have a stylist at the shoot.
